About Real Star Education

Real Star Education’ is an innovative initiative of Indian Planetary Society (IPS), that specializes in designing and manufacturing unique educational exhibits , teaching aids and toys for the K-12 segment.

IPS is an non-profit society headed by Dr. J.J. Rawal. He received his M.Phil. in Physical Sciences from Calcutta University (1975) and Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Univ. of Bombay (1992). He was a former Director for Astronomical Research, Nehru Planetarium, Mumbai. Among other awards he received the National Award for Popularization of Science and Technology in Education, Govt. of India (NCSTC/DST) in 1994.

Indian Planetary Society is a Scientific and Industrial research organization awarded by Govt. of India in 2003. IPS is the recipient of the 2004 national award for ‘Best efforts in Science and Technology Popularization’ by Govt. of India as well as many other national and international awards.

Real Star Education is an effort of IPS and Curion Education (manufacturing partner) towards creating a mass impact in education primarily through setting up science centers in as many schools as possible.

The Planetary Society, USA, had recognized the Indian Planetary Society for its dedicated service as a National Center for the Red Rover Goes to Mars Student Astronaut Competition in the year 2002-2003.

The prestigious NCSTC National Award, awarded to the Indian Planetary Society for its best efforts in Popularization of Science and Technology in 2004 by the Department of Science & Technology.

A national award of Rs. 200,000/- for best efforts in science and technology communication during 1999 - 2003.
